占領下暫定切手（丸検印） 1947年（昭和22年）2月1日発行 沖縄は、太平洋戦争末期の1945年（昭和20）6月、アメリカ軍により殲滅された。同年12月 にアメリカ軍政府が設置され、1946年（昭和21）3月、琉球民政府が設立された。1947年 12月1日に、それまでの日本切手（大日本帝国郵便）に奄美地区の郵便局長印を押した暫定切手が発行された。丸検査印は、1948年6月30日まで暫定的に使用された。

Okinawa was annihilated by the US military in June 1945 (Showa 20) at the end of the Pacific War. The US military government was established in December of the same year, and the Ryukyu Civil Administration was established in March 1946 (Showa 21). On December 1, 1947, a provisional stamp was issued with the postmaster's seal of the Amami area on the previous Japanese stamp (Dainippon Imperial Mail). The circle inspection mark was used provisionally until June 30, 1948.
