第一次動植物国宝切手 1950年（昭和25年）～ 1951年（昭和26年） 1950年（昭和25年）、終戦後の混乱期が過ぎ、今までの産業図案切手が時代に合わなくなったことが官民双方から指摘された。そのため、郵政省は新しい図案として国宝や重要文化財及び動植物を採用することを決定した。最初の発行は、1950年11月、京都の「平等院鳳凰堂」24円が発行され、その後翌年まで、上記8種が銭単位（円位の右に銭00が表示される）で発行された。

In 1950 (Showa 25), it was pointed out that the period of turmoil after the end of the war had passed and that the industrial design stamps up to that point did not suit the times. Therefore, the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications has decided to adopt national treasures, important cultural properties, animals and plants as new designs.The first issue was in November 1950, Kyoto's "Byodoin Houdou" was issued for 24 yen, and until the following year, the above eight types were released in coin units (sen 00 is displayed to the right of the yen).
