First New Showa Stamps 1946 (Showa 21)-1947 (Showa 22)

First New Showa Stamp Issued on 1946 (Showa 21) - 1947 (Showa 22) In August 1945 (Showa 20), with the end of the Asia Pacific War, the design of stamps, which had been strongly war-colored until then, was changed to a peaceful one. In August 1946, a 1-yen stamp depicting "Fuji of Katsushika Hokusai" was issued as the first stamp, followed by 11 types of stamps. These stamps were unperforated and glue-free, reflecting the lack of materials of this era.
