75th Anniversary of Yasukuni Shrine Issued on June 29, 1944 - Specimen - Yasukuni Shrine was built in 1869 (originally from Tokyo Shokon Shrine. Since the "Boshin War" in the previous year, it is the first to enshrine the spirits of 3,600 deaths of government troops. After that, the spirits of the war dead of the Southwest War (domestic), the Sino-Japanese War, the Russo-Japanese War, and the World War1 were enshrined. At this time, the Ministry of Communications had already been dismantled.
