シンガポール陥落記念記念 1942年（昭和17年）2月16日発行 （みほん）
1941年（昭和16年）12月、日本はアメリカに宣戦布告してアジア太平洋戦争に突入した。その後すぐマレー半島を占領し、1947年2月15日、シンガポールを陥落させた。逓信省は直ちに乃木大将（陸軍）と東郷大将（海軍）を描いた普通切手に、「シンガポール陥落」加刷及び寄付金を加刷して発行した。

Singapore Occupation Memorial Issued on February 16, 1942 (Showa 17) - Specimen -
In December 1941 (Showa 16), Japan declared war on the United States and entered the Asia-Pacific War. Shortly thereafter, The Japanese army occupied the Malay and, on February 15, 1947, occupied Singapore.The Ministry of Communications immediately issued a regular stamp depicting General Nogi (Army) and General Togo (Navy),Stamps with "Singapore Occupation" reprints and donations have been issued.
