日清戦争勝利記念切手 1896年（明治29年）8月1日発行 （みほん）
1894年（明治27年）8月、ロシアの南下政策に対する李氏朝鮮への覇権争いが原因で、日本は清国と戦争に突入した。1895年（明治28年)4月、日本は清国に勝利し、下関講和条約が締結された。この切手は、戦争の指揮を執った皇族2名が描かれている。

Sino-Japanese War Victory Memorial Issued August 1, 1896 (Meiji 29) - Specimen -
In August 1894 (Meiji 27), Japan entered a war with the Qing dynasty due to the battle for hegemony over Joseon over Russia's southward policy. In April 1895 (Meiji 28), Japan defeated the Qing dynasty and the Treaty of Shimonoseki was signed. This stamp depicts the two royal families who commanded the war.
