万国地質学会議 (IGC) は、1878に第1回会議がパリで万国博覧会と一緒に開催された。世界で一番古い国際会議の一つである。第29回大会は1992年8月日本で開催された。切手はこれを記念して発行され、「アンモナイトと地図と地層図」がデザインされている。
29th International Geological Congress Issued on August 24, 1992 (Heisei 4)
The International Union of Geological Sciences (IGC), the first conference of which was held in Paris in 1878, was held in conjunction with the World's Fair. It is one of the oldest international conferences in the world.The 29th Congress was held in Japan in August 1992. Stamps are issued in commemoration of this, and "Ammonites, maps and geological maps" are designed.
