Agricultural Research Centennial Issued on August 23, 1993 (Heisei 5)
The National Agricultural Experiment Station, predecessor of the current Agricultural Experiment Station, was located in Nishigahara, Sendai, Kanazawa, Kashiwabara, Hiroshima, Tokushima, and Kumamoto in 1893, and in 1896 there were also branches in Omagari, Aichi, and Shimane. With these establishments and the establishment of national treasury subsidies for prefectural agricultural experimental stations in 1899, prefectural and prefectural agricultural experimental stations began to be set up in each prefecture nationwide, and tests and research for improving agricultural technology are planned in each region. It became a thing. The stamp is issued in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of Japan's agricultural test research, and is designed with "rice flowers".
