International Year of the Family Issued on May 13, 1994 (Heisei 6)

International Year of the Family Issued on May 13, 1994 (Heisei 6)
In November 1989, the United Nations designated 1994 as the "International Day of Families" by the United Nations General Assembly to raise public interest in family issues. With the slogan "building the smallest democrasy at the heart of society," the declaration states that "the family is the basic unit of society," and "the family is given as much protection and assistance as possible." Support activities were carried out by international organizations and non-governmental organizations such as NGOs, and commemorative action plans were held in about 150 countries. The stamp was issued in commemoration of this, and "Family made at home, LOVE, family flying in the sky, happiness flower" was designed.
