藤原京創都1300年 1995 (平成7年) 3月 28日発行
『日本書紀』の天武天皇5年 (676年) に天武天皇が新都選定に着手し、その後も「京師」に巡行したという記述がある。これらから、藤原京の造営は天武天皇の時代から段階的に進められたという説が有力である。天武天皇の死後に一旦頓挫した造営工事は、持統 4年 (690年) 再開され、4年後の694年に飛鳥浄御原宮から都を移し、藤原京は成立した。切手は、藤原京遷都1300年を記念して発行され、「藤原宮の瓦」と岡田三郎助画「古き昔を偲びて」がデザインされている。

There is a description that Emperor Tenmu started to select a new city in the 5th year of Emperor Tenmu (676) in "Nihon Shoki" and continued to cruise to "Kyoshi". From these, the theory that the construction of Fujiwara-kyo was gradually advanced from the time of Emperor Tenmu is predominant. The construction work, which had once failed after the death of Emperor Tenmu, was resumed in the 4th year of Jito (690), and 4 years later, in 694, the capital was moved from Asuka Kiyomihara Palace, and Fujiwara-kyo was established. The stamp was issued in commemoration of 1300th anniversary of the transfer of capital to Kyo Fujiwara, and is designed with "Fujiwara Palace Tile" and Saburo Okada's "Remembering the Old Times".
