1995年世界柔道選手権大会 (第19回世界柔道選手権大会) は日本の千葉市・幕張メッセ幕張イベントホールで9月28日から10月1日まで開催された。1995年世界体操選手権は、10月に日本・福井県鯖江市のサンドーム福井で開催された。アジア初開催であると同時に初の地方都市開催となった。切手はそれぞれの大会を記念して 2種発行され、柔道と体操がデザインされた。
Sports World Championships (Judo,Gymnastics) Issued on September 28, 1995 (Heisei 7)
The 1995 World Judo Championships (19th World Judo Championships) was held from September 28th to October 1st at the Makuhari Messe Makuhari Event Hall in Chiba City, Japan. The 1995 World Gymnastics Championships was held in October at Sun Dome Fukui in Sabae City, Fukui Prefecture, Japan. It was the first time in Asia and at the same time the first time in a local city. Two types of stamps were issued to commemorate each tournament, and judo and gymnastics were designed.
