ユネスコ (United Nations Educational,Scientific and Cultural Organization.) は、国際連合の教育科学文化機関である。本部はパリ。UNESCOは、第二次世界大戦後、国連が1945年に設立され、その翌年の1946年に、人類が二度と戦争の惨禍を繰り返さないようにとの願いを込めて、各国政府が加盟する国際連合の専門機関として創設された。日本は1951年に60番目の加盟国となった。切手は国連設立50年を記念して2種発行され、「心のハーモニー」「ハートの風船」がデザインされている。

UNESCO was founded in 1946 as a specialized agency of the United Nations, to which governments of each country belong, with the hope that humankind will never repeat the tragedy of war. Japan became the 60th member country in 1951. Two types of stamps have been issued to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the United Nations, and "harmony of the heart" and "balloons of the heart" are designed.
