Cultural Leaders Issued on Nobember 4, 1995 (Heisei 7)
On November 8, 1995, the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications issued two types of cultural stamps. Tadataka Ino, the author of the survey map in the Edo period, and Kitaro Nishida, the philosopher. From 1800 to 1816, Tadataka Ino surveyed all areas of Japan and completed the "Dai Nihon Enkai Yochi Zenzu" to create an accurate national land map. Kitaro Nishida is an emeritus professor at Kyoto University and has authored books such as "The Study of Zen".
