1995年11月8日、郵政省は文化人切手2種を発行した。江戸時代の測量地図作者伊能忠敬と、哲学者の西田幾多郎である。伊能忠敬は、1800年から1816年まで、日本の全ての地域を測量して『大日本沿海輿地全図』を完成させ、正確な国土地図を創った。西田幾多郎は京都大学名誉教授で「禅の研究」等の著書がある。
Cultural Leaders Issued on Nobember 4, 1995 (Heisei 7)
On November 8, 1995, the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications issued two types of cultural stamps. Tadataka Ino, the author of the survey map in the Edo period, and Kitaro Nishida, the philosopher. From 1800 to 1816, Tadataka Ino surveyed all areas of Japan and completed the "Dai Nihon Enkai Yochi Zenzu" to create an accurate national land map. Kitaro Nishida is an emeritus professor at Kyoto University and has authored books such as "The Study of Zen".
