メキシコ移住100周年 1997 (平成9年) 5月 12日発行
1888年に日本とメキシコの間で結ばれた日墨修好通商条約により、1897年5月19日、メキシコに34人の移住日本人が到着した。この日を「殖民地創始の記念日」と定めた。切手は、日本人のメキシコ移住100年を記念して発行され、「ワシとトラと太陽」がデザインされている。
THe Centennial Anniversary of Japanese Migration to Mexico Issued on May 12, 1997 (Heisei 9)
The Japan-Mexico Preference Treaty signed between Japan and Mexico in 1888 brought 34 Japanese migrants to Mexico on May 19, 1897. This day was designated as "the anniversary of the founding of Japanese emigration." The stamp is issued to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Japanese emigration to Mexico and is designed with "eagle, tiger and sun".
