1999年10月、郵政省は。国際文通週間 (International Letter Writing Week) 切手を発行した。国際文中週間は文通による相互理解で世界平和に貢献する国際週間である。万国郵便連合 (UPU) 結成日の10月9日から1週間、毎年設定されている。切手は、上段 (国際文通週間) には葛飾北斎画「富嶽三十六景 (ふがくさんじゅうろっけい) 」がデザインされ、下段 (グリーティング) にも、葛飾北斎画「富嶽三十六景」がデザインさ れている。
