2001年世界水泳選手権は、2001年7月16日から同年7月29日まで福岡市博多区のマリンメッセ福岡を中心に行われた第9回世界水泳選手権である。この大会は、アジアで初めて開催された世界水泳選手権である。切手はこの大会を記念して4種発行され、「競技種目」がデザインされている。

The 2001 FINA World Aquatics Championships is the 9th FINA World Championships held from July 16th, 2001 to July 29th, 2001, centered on Marine Messe Fukuoka in Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City. This tournament is the first FINA World Championships in Asia. Four types of stamps have been issued to commemorate this tournament, and "competition events" have been designed.
