Japan and South Asia in 21st Century Issued on April 12, 2002 (Heisei 14)
Entering the 21st century, India has increased its presence in the international community with remarkable economic growth in the South Asian region. On the other hand, there are also unstable factors in the international community in the region. In 2001, India and Pakistan supported the war on terror and improved their position. In the 21st century, economic development in South Asia is predicted to evolve more dynamically. Stamps are issued for the purpose of strengthening relations between South Asia and Japan in the 21st century, and are designed for Taj Mahal, Mohenjo-daro ruins, ancient city Sigilia, and Baharpur temple ruins.
