On November 5, 2002, the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications issued three types of cultural stamps (Vol. 11). Shiki Masaoka, a poet and poet, Kiyonaga Torii, an ukiyo-e artist from the Edo period, and Aikitsu Tanakadate, a physicist. Shiki Masaoka is a Japanese poet, poet, and Japanese linguistics researcher. He created haiku, tanka, novels, and essays, and had a great influence on modern Japanese literature. He had a close friendship with the novelist Natsume Soseki. Kiyonaga Torii, an ukiyo-e artist, was active in the Edo period and is one of the six major ukiyo-e artists along with Sharaku, Hokusai, and Hiroshige. In particular, his eight-headed bijin-ga is highly regarded worldwide. Aikitsu Tanakadate is a Japanese geophysicist, professor emeritus at the University of Tokyo, and recipient of the Order of Culture.
