The 50th Anniv. of Television Issued on January 31 2003 (Heisei 15)
In January 1953 (Showa 28), Japanese electric maker Sharp released the first domestically produced TV "TV3-14T". In February of the same year, NHK Tokyo Television started Japan's first terrestrial television broadcasting. Furthermore, in August of the same year, NTV started the first television broadcasting of commercial television broadcasting. The stamp is issued in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of Japanese TV broadcasting, and is designed with "TV station title Dove and Street TV" and "Hyokkori Gourd Island Doll and Home TV".
