小判切手（新小判切手） 1888年（明治21年）発行 1888年（明治21年）3月、 今迄の小判切手の印刷色を変更した7種と、新しい額面2種が発行された。25銭は図案が小判タイプではなく円形となり、1円は天皇の紋章である「菊」がデザインされた。この時代は日本のナショナリズム化が切手に反映されている。
