"Cherry blossom stamp" (Changed Designs) Issued on 1875ー1986 In 1875 (Meiji 8), with the increase in postal use, the Ministry of Finance was preparing to manufacture stamps using the new electric placenta method because of the need for the same quality and mass printing. As a link, the Ministry of Finance issued the above three types of design revision stamps. Two years later, in June 1877 (Meiji 10), Japan joined the Universal Postal Union and achieved internationalization, just like Western countries.
