Towada-Hachimantai National Park (Second) Issued on 9 , 16 , 1968 (Showa 43)
In September 1968, the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications issued two types of Towada-Hachimantai National Park stamps.
Towada Hachimantai National Park is a national park located in the northeastern part of the country. It spans Aomori, Iwate, and Akita prefectures and covers the volcanic groups around Lake Towada and Hachimantai. On February 1, 1936, only the Towada area was designated as Towada National Park, along with Yoshino Kumano National Park, Fuji Hakone National Park, and Daisen National Park. In July 1956 (Showa 31), with the addition of the Hachimantai area, it became the current Towada Hachiman- tai National Park. The first stamp was issued with a small sheet in 1951 (Showa 26).
