Kirishima-Yaku National Park (Second) Issued on 11 , 20 , 1968 (Showa 43)
In November 1968, the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications issued two types of Kirishima Yaku National Park stamps. Kirishima Yaku National Park, the Kirishima area of Kirishima Yaku National Park was designated as Japan's first national park "Kirishima National Park" in 1934. In 1964, the Kinko Bay area consisting of Sakurajima, Ibusuki, Cape Sata, etc. and the Yakushima area were incorporated into the "Kirishima Yaku National Park".
The Ministry of the Environment evaluated that the caldera at the back of Kagoshima Bay (Kinko Bay) has an outstanding landscape in Japan as a marine caldera, and decided to newly incorporate it into the park area. Along with this, this park has been divided into two parts, "Kirishima Kinkowan National Park" and "Yakushima National Park", which is a world natural heritage and has a unique ecosystem. It became a national park. The first stamp (Kirishima National Park) was issued with a small sheet.
