In April 1970 (Showa 45), the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications issued two types of Yoshino Kumano National Park stamps. Yoshino Kumano National Park is a national park that spans the three prefectures of the Kii Peninsula in Nara, Mie, and Wakayama prefectures.It has a total area of 61,406 ha, the majority of which belongs to Nara prefecture. It was designated on February 1, 1936 (Showa 10). The first stamp was issued in 1949 (Showa 24) with a small sheet.
