1971 (昭和46) 6月 、郵政省は、西海国立公園切手 (2次) 2種を発行した。西海国立公園は、長崎県西北部に位置する国立公園である。1955年 (昭和30年) 3月に日本で 18番目に指定を受けた。面積は24,646ha。リアス式海岸と200余りの島からなる九十九島を含め、大小400に及ぶ島々が繰り広げる外洋性多島海景観を特徴とする。
第1次切手は1956年 (昭和31) 小型シートとともに発行された。

1971 (Showa 46) In June, the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications issued two types of Saikai National Park stamps (secondary). Saikai National Park is a national park located in the northwestern part of Nagasaki Prefecture. It was designated 18th in Japan on March 16, 1955 (Showa 30). The area is 24,646ha. It features an open-sea archipelago landscape of 400 large and small islands, including Kujuku Islands, which consists of a ria coast and more than 200 islands.
The first stamp was issued with a small sheet in 1956 (Showa 31).
