桜切手（外国通信用 鳥切手) 1875年（明治9年）1月1日/8日）発行 1875年（明治8年）、外国郵便の取扱開始に伴い鳥図案の外国通信用切手3種が発行された。切手は全て洋紙に変更され、仮名も入れられた。このうち45銭は、適応宛先国はなく、重量便用である。この時から横浜・長崎・神戸・函館の米国郵便局が廃止された。 (参考〕『日本切手専門カタログ2007』 日本郵趣協会)

In 1875 (Meiji 8),Bird design stamps for foreign has issued with the start of foreign mail. On the other hand, all the Sakura Stamps have been changed to Western paper and pseudonym added.Of these, 45 sen is for heavy mail, with no applicable destination country. From this time, the US post offices in Yokohama, Nagasaki, Kobe, and Hakodate were abolished.
