In March 1974, the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications issued two types of Iriomote National Park stamps.Iriomote National Park consists of both Iriomote Island and Ishigaki Island, the sea area of coral reefs between Ishigaki Island and Iriomote Island, and Taketomi Island and Hatoma Island to the north of Iriomote Island. NS. The area of the marine park is the largest in Japan. It was designated as Iriomote Government Park by the Ryukyu government in April 1972, and was desi- gnated as Iriomote National Park when it returned to Okinawa in May of the same year. Finally, the "National Park Series Stamps" (issued 45 times), which had been issued for 38 years before and after the war from "Fuji Hakone National Park" in 1936 to 1974, closed the curtain.
