1961年 (昭和36) 3月、郵政省は南房総国定公園切手1種を発行した。
南房総国定公園は、千葉県房総半島南部に位置し、1958年 (昭和33) に指定された。この公園はその大半を海岸部が占めており、気候は温暖でマリンリゾートとして発展した。
内陸部では鹿野 (かのう) 山と清澄 (きよすみ) 山が指定されている。
切手は、白浜の野島崎灯台と、海女 (女性潜水漁師) がデザインされている。
Minami - Bōsō Quasi-National Park Issued on 3 , 15 , 1961 (Showa 36)
In March 1961 (Showa 36), the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications issued one kind of Minami Boso Quasi-National Park stamp.Minami Boso National Park is located in the southern part of the Boso Peninsula, Chiba Prefecture, and was designated in 1958 (Showa 33).
Most of this park is occupied by the coast, and the climate is warm and it has developed as a marine resort. In the inland area, Mt. Kano and Mt. Kiyosumi are designated. The stamps are designed by Nojimasaki Lighthouse in Shirahama and a ama (female diving fisherman).
