Western paper non-Syllabics
桜切手（過渡期） 洋紙仮名無し 1874年（明治7年） 2月発行 1873年（明治6）、大蔵省は全国各地の切手配布数等管理の目的で、切手表面に「仮名」を挿入した。この時の印刷用紙は、今迄の「和紙」から印刷の容易な「洋紙」に変更される過渡期だったため、この時期に洋紙を使用して印刷する際、旧来の仮名の無い原版を使用した2種があった。これを「洋紙仮名無し」と呼んで、いる。ごく短期間・少数発行であり、「過渡期の桜切手」として分類している。

In 1873 (Meiji 6), the Ministry of Finance inserted a "Syllabics" on the surface of stamps for the purpose of managing the number of stamps distributed all over the country. when printing using Western paper at this time, there were two types that used the original plate without the original Syllabics. This is called " Western paper non- Syllabics", and all are issued in a very short period of time and in a small number, and are classified as "transitional cherry blossom stamps".
