1964年 (昭和39) 2月、郵政省は日南海岸国定公園切手1種を発行した。
日南海岸国定公園は、宮崎県宮崎市南部から鹿児島県志布志(しぶし)湾に至る海岸 に沿うエリアである。1955年国定公園に指定された。公園面積は45平方キロメートル。宮崎県側の海岸線は隆起海岸で、日南山地が海に迫る地形である。
切手は、堀切峠 (鬼の洗濯板) とリュウゼツランがデザインされている。

In February 1964 (Showa 39), the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications issued one type of Nichinan Kaigan Quasi-National Park stamp.
Nichinan Kaigan Quasi-National Park is an area along the coast from the southern part of Miyazaki City, Miyazaki Prefecture to Shibushi Bay, Kagoshima Prefecture. It was designated as a national park in 1955. The park area is 45 square kilometers. The coastline on the Miyazaki prefecture side is a raised coast, and the Nichinan Mountains are close to the sea. The stamps are designed by Horikiri Pass (Devil's Washboard) and Agave.
