1969年 (昭和44) 2月、郵政省は鳥海国定公園切手1種を発行した。
鳥海国定公園は、秋田・山形県境の鳥海山を中心として、日本海沿岸の象潟(きさかた)、吹浦(ふくら)と、日本海上の飛島(とびしま)を含むエリアである。1963年に指定され、 面積284㎢である。鳥海山 (2236ｍ) は日本海沿いの秀麗な独立峰である。山頂から は、岩木(いわき)山、朝日連峰、吾妻(あづま)連峰、佐渡島などが眺望できる。
切手は、飛島から眺望した鳥海山がデザインされている。

In February 1969 (Showa 44), the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications issued a kind of Chokai Quasi-National Park stamp.
Chokai Quasi-National Park is an area centered on Mt. Chokai on the border between Akita and Yamagata prefectures, including Kisakata and Fukura on the coast of the Sea of Japan, and Tobishima on the Sea of Japan. Designated in 1963, it has an area of 284 ㎢.Mt. Chokai (2236m) is a beautiful independent peak along the Sea of Japan. From the summit,seeing Mt. Iwaki, Asahi mountain range, Azuma mountain range, and Sado Island. The stamp is designed with Mt. Chokai seen from Tobishima.
