In March 1969 (Showa 44), the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications issued two types of Takano Ryujin Quasi-National Park stamps.
Koya Ryujin Quasi-National Park is an area centered on the mountains, including Koyasan in Wakayama Prefecture and Ryujin Onsen to the south. Designated in 1967, the park area is 192 ㎢.There is Kongobuji Temple, a Shingon Esoteric Buddhist Dojo. founded by Kukai (Kobo Daishi) in 816. There are more than 100 temples surrounding it, and the townscape continues in it, showing a unique mountain religious landscape.
The stamps are designed by Mt. Koya and Mt. Gomadan.
