Meiji-no-mori Takao and Minō Quasi-National Park
Issued on 3 , 12 , 1973 (Showa 48)
In March 1973, the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications issued two types of Meijinomori Takao and Minoh Quasi-National Park stamps. This is a rare case of issuing Quasi- national parks (Takao in Tokyo and Minoh in Osaka) together in two different areas. Meiji no Mori Takao Quasi-National Park is a natural park centered on Mt. Takao in Tokyo. The park area is about 8km2 and was designated in 1967 as a commemorative project for the 100th year of the Meiji era. ThanMeiji no Mori Minoo National Monument is located in the south of the Hokusetsu Mountains in. Minoo City, Osaka Prefecture, and was designated as a national park along with Mt.
Takao in Tokyo in 1967 as a project for the 100th year of the Meiji era.
The park area is about 10 ㎢. The center of the park is Minoo Park, and the Minoo River Valley area is a famous place for waterfalls and autumn leaves.
The stamps are designed with "Mt. Takao" and "Mino Otaki (waterfall)".
