In August 1973, the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications issued two types of West Chugoku Mountains Quasi-National Park Stamps.
West Chugoku Mountains Quasi-National Park covers the three prefectures of Hiroshima, Shimane, and Yamaguchi, and covers the Backbone Mountains in the western part of the Chugoku region. The park area is about 286 ㎢and was de- signated in 1969.From the border between Shimane and Hiroshima prefectures to the border area between Hiroshima and Yamaguchi prefectures, there are. Mt. Tenguishi, Mt. Ungetsu, Mt. Garyu, and Mt. Osorakan. This mountain range connects mountains of about 1000m to 1300m.
The stamps are designed with "Mt. Fukairi" and "Three-tiered waterfall".
