年賀切手 昭和26年用 1951 (昭和26年) 1月1日発行
1951年用年賀切手は、1951年 (昭和26) 1月1日に発行された。現在なら、年賀状作成準備期間として前年12月に発行されるが、この時代はまだ戦後の物資不足だったので、私製郵便はがきが不足していたといわれている。その理由の他に、郵政省は寄付金付き年賀はがき(2円+1円) を優先的に発行し、収益を得たいとの目論見があった。また、19 50年にGHQが記念切手の濫発を制止したことによって、別の手法での収益確保が必要だったとの見解もある。そのため、この年の年賀はがき4億枚は、全て寄付金付で発行された。それに対し、年賀切手は、1千万枚 (40分の一) しか発行されなかった。デザインは、「兎と少女」であり、年賀はがきの懸賞として「小型シート」が配賦された。
