New Year Greeting stamp Showa27 Issued on January 16, 1952
The 1952 New Year stamp was issued on January 16, 1952 (Showa 27). At this time, as in 1950, it was published after the New Year period. The reason is that the supply of privately-made postcards was low due to the continued shortage of supplies after the war. (For another reason, the government-made New Year's postcards could be used as they were, but for New Year's stamps, it was necessary to prepare a separate postcard.) , Only 10 million (1/35 against postcards) New Year stamps were issued.
The design is "Okina no Mae", and a "small sheet" was distributed as a prize for New Year's postcards.
