The 1954 New Year stamp was issued on December 25, 1953 (Showa 28). From this year, the issuance of New Year stamps was in December of the previous year. However, as usual, the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications gave priority to New Year's postcards with donations (face value 4 yen + donations 1 yen), so this year's New Year's postcards have 100 million yen without donations and donations (1 million yen). 4 yen + 1 yen) was issued 400 million copies. On the other hand, only 5 million (1/100 against postcards) New Year stamps were issued. The design is "Miharu-goma, a toy from Fukushima Prefecture", and a "small sheet" was distributed as a prize for New Year's postcards.
