1969年用年賀切手は、1968年 (昭和43) 12月5日に発行された。この年も、寄付金無し年賀はがき7円 (10億5千万枚) と、額面7円+寄付金1円はがき (4億5千万枚) が発行された。年賀切手は、7000万枚 (約20分の一) が発行された。デザインは、米沢の一刀彫玩具の「にわとり」であり、年賀はがき懸賞として「小型シート」が配賦された。

The 1969 New Year stamp was issued on December 5, 1968 (Showa 43). In this year as well, new year's postcards without donations of 7yen (1.05 billion) and postcards with a face value of 7yen + donations of 1 yen (450 million) were issued. 70 million New Year stamps (about 1/20 against postcards) were issued. The design is "Niwatori", a one-sword carved toy from Yonezawa, and a "small sheet" was distributed as a New Year's postcard sweepstakes.
