1971年用年賀切手は、1970年 (昭和45) 12月10日に発行された。この年も、寄付金無年賀はがき7円 (11.8億枚) と、額面7円+寄付金1円はがき (5億枚) が発行された。年賀切手は、7000万枚 (24分の一) が発行された。デザインは、新潟県民芸品の「イノシシ」であり、年賀はがき懸賞として「小型シート」が配賦された。

The 1971 New Year stamp was issued on December 10, 1970 (Showa 45). In this year as well, a donation-free New Year's postcard of 7yen (1.18 billion sheets) and a face value of 7 yen + a donation of 1 yen postcard (500 million sheets) were issued. 70 million (1/24 against postcards) New Year stamps were issued. The design is "Wild boar", a folk craft of Niigata prefecture, and "Small sheet" was distributed as a New Year's postcard sweepstakes.
