1973年用年賀切手は、1972年 (昭和47) 12月11日に発行された。この年も、寄付金無し年賀はがき10円 (12.8億枚) と、額面10円+寄付金1円はがき (5億枚) が発行された。年賀切手は、1億枚 (18分の一) が発行された。デザインは、尾形乾山作「色絵土器皿」であり、年賀はがき懸賞として「小型シート」が配賦された。

The 1973New Year stamp was issued on December 11, 1972 (Showa 44). In this year as well, new year's postcards without donations of 10 yen (1.28 billion) and postcards with a face value of 10 yen + donations of 1 yen (500 million) were issued. 100 million stamps (1 / 18th against postcards) were issued. The design is "Color painting earthen ware plate" by Kenzan Ogata, and a "small sheet" was distributed as a New Year's postcard sweepstakes.
