郵政省と地方郵政局は、1991年 (平成3) 5月、「ふるさと切手」を発行した。デザインは、新潟県が「錦鯉」 (720万枚) 、北海道「北のロマン・花」4種連刷 (各375万枚) 、栃木県が「あの町この町 (童謡) 」 (800万枚) である。
