郵政省と地方郵政局は、1997年（平成9）5月、「ふるさと切手」を発行した。デザインは、香川県の「丸亀城」（570万枚）である。同時に、切手帳ペーンが発行された。
Furusato (Regional) Stamps Issued on 5 15, 1997 (Heisei 9)
The Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications and the Local Post Office issued "Furusato Stamps" in May 1997. The design is "Marugame Castle" (5.7 million pieces) in Kagawa Prefecture. At the same time, a stamp booklet pane was issued.
