郵政省と地方郵政局は、2001年 (平成13) 5月、「ふるさと切手」を発行した。デザインは宮城県の「仙台開府400年」 (620万枚) である。同時に切手帳ペーンが発行された。

The Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications and the Local Post Office issued "Furusato Stamps" in May 2001 (Heisei 13). The design is "400 years since the opening of Sendai" in Miyagi prefecture (6.2 million copies). At the same time, a stamp booklet pane was issued.
