第8回ドイツ語学・文学国際学会 1990年（平成2年）8月27日発行 日本のドイツ語学文学振興会は1960 年に創立された。その目的は，政治，経済，文化等各方面で日本と密接な関係にあるドイツの研究をすることである。同会は、ドイツ語，ドイツ文学専攻者の全国的な学術機関であり，現在も約二千名の会員を擁している。切手は、第8回ドイツ語学・文学国際学会開催を記念して発行され、「森鴎外とゲーテのファウスト」がデザインされている。

The German Language and Literature Promotion Association of Japan was founded in 1960. The purpose is to study Germany, which is closely related to Japan in various fields such as politics, economy, and culture. The association is a nationwide academic institution majoring in German language and literature, and still has about 2,000 members.
The stamp was issued in commemoration of the 8th International Conference on German Language and Literature, and was designed with "Ogai Mori and Goethe's Faust".
