Horse And Culture Series 1 Issued on June 20, 1990(Heisei 2)

Horse And Culture Series 1 Issued on June 20, 1990(Heisei 2) The origin of Japanese horses is the "Mongolian horses" that were brought to Tsushima and Kyushu from the Mongolian plateau via the Korean Peninsula during the Kofun period (3rd to 7th centuries). Immediately after the Goguryeo War of Korea (Wa, Goguryeo: 4th to 5th centuries), Wa began to introduce and train horses and war horses in Japan. Horse bones, horse teeth, and harnesses from this era have been excavated from archaeological sites, and breeding has spread rapidly in the current Kanto region (Gunma, Chiba) and Tohoku region, and Japan has become a breeding ground for horses. Stamps were issued in a series of five times to introduce traditional Japanese horses.
