ユーロパリア日本祭 1989年（平成元年）9月 18日発行 1989年9月、ヨーロッパ文化芸術祭「ユーロバリア」が開催された。この年は、日本が非ヨーロッパの国で初めてテーマ国に選ばれ，歌舞伎や能，茶道，日本舞踊の公演，展示，シンポジウムが行なわれた。ユーロパリアは、1968年ベルギーで設立された非営利団体で、1969年以来、テーマ国を決めてブリュッセルで祭典を開催し，その国の文化や芸術を紹介している。 切手はこれを記念して発行され、「阿国歌舞伎図（おくにかぶきず）」がデザインされている。
Europalia '89 Japan Issued on September 18, 1989 (Heisei 1) In September 1989, the European Culture and Arts Festival "Euro Barrier" was held. This year, Japan was selected as the theme country for the first time in a non-Euro-pean country, and Kabuki, Noh, tea ceremony, and Japanese dance performances, exhibitions, and symposiums were held. Europaria is a non-profit organization founded in Belgium in 1968. Since 1969, it has decided on a theme country and has held a festival in Brussels to introduce the culture and art of that country. The stamp was issued in commemoration of this, and "Okunikabukizu" is designed.
