In March 1989, the Yokohama Exotic Showcase (YOKOHAMA EXOTIC SHOWCASE '89: YES'89) was held in the Minato Mirai 21 district of Yokohama, Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture. This is a local exposition held to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Yokohama municipal organization and the 130th anniversary of the opening of Yokohama Port. Stamps were issued in commemoration of this exposition, and are designed by Utagawa Yoshitora, an ukiyo-e artist, "Girl" and "Yokohama Museum of Art".
The reason is that the consumption tax was introduced on April 1, 1989, so the issue date of March 16 is 60 yen without consumption tax, but the consumption tax was introduced from April 1 during the session. Therefore, a 62-yen stamp was issued.
