日墨修好通商条約署名100周年 1988年（昭和63年） 11月 30日発行 日墨修好通商条約は、1888年（明治21年）11月に日本とメキシコの間で締結された。治外法権が無く、関税自主権のある平等条約であり、メキシコにとってはアジアの国と初めて締結した条約となった。この条約は日本全権陸奥宗光と、駐米キシコ公使マティアス・ロメロとの間で調印された。切手はこの条約100周年を記念して発行され、「メキシコ国旗の紋章」がデザインされている。
Centennial of Japan-Mexico Treaty Issued on November 30, 1988 (Showa 63) The Japan-Mexico Treaty of Amity and Commerce was signed between Japan and Mexico in November 1888 (Meiji 21). It is an unequal treaty with no extraterritoriality and autonomy of customs duties, making it the first treaty for Mexico to conclude with an Asian country. This treaty was signed between Japan's plenipotentiary Mutsu Munemitsu and the Mexican minister to the United States, Matias Romero. The stamp was issued to commemorate the 100th anniversary of this treaty, and the "Crest of the Mexican flag" is designed.
