Farewell to Railway Post Service
Issued on March 26, 1987 (Showa 62)

Farewell to Railway Post Service Issued on March 26, 1987 (Showa 62) The Railway Post Office is a type of post office that once existed in the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications to handle railway mail. The underwritten mail was transported and sorted by a postal car connected to the train.
Since the 1970s, it has been pushed by transportation by car and aircraft, and in February 1984, the handling flights and in-car transit classification were abolished, and in September 1986, the escort flights were also abolished and the station was closed.
The stamp was issued in memory of its abolition, and "C1178 Yu 3700 type railway postal train" and "Postal service picture scroll" are designed.
