Disaster Prevention Issued on August 23, 1984 (Showa 59) "Disaster Prevention Day" is a disaster prevention enlightenment day, which was decided by the Cabinet in 1982, "Government, local governments and citizens deal with and prepare for disasters such as typhoons, storm surges, tsunamis and earthquakes." Every year, around September 1, dissemination of disaster prevention ideas, disaster prevention drills, etc. are held.
